Why Broadway North?
Broadway North is the premiere dance studio in the Lakes Region. We offer our students two yearly performances, Christmas and Spring, as well as three competition dance teams and other exciting opportunities throughout the year. We are now in our 11th season in a new 6,400 square foot air-conditioned facility. We offer quality instruction for dancersof all ages, 2½ to Adult.
Studio Background
Broadway North opened in the fall of 1993, and was located in the Major Brands Plaza for 10 years. In 2003, the studio moved to the former Hi-Fi furniture building where theynow enjoy three state of the art studios, a spacious waiting area and a dance apparel and supply store. Dancers from Broadway North have been recognized in NH, as well as nationally for their competitive performances. Students from the studio danced in the 1997 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and have also competed and won various Miss New Hampshire Local titles. In 2001, the Broadway North Competition Dancers traveled to Virginia Beach, Virginia for the “Star Quest” Nationals where their choreography received “High-Gold” recognition on a national level.
Teacher?s Background
Heidi Noyes is the owner and director at Broadway North. Growing up in the dance studio, since the age of three, Heidi danced under the tutelage of Elaine Quinn for 15 years. She attended Plymouth State College in 1992, and continued to teach with Elaine in the evenings. At the age of 18 Heidi was graduating from Dance Educators of America in New York City and was ready to open a studio of her own. Heidi also competed in The Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program from 1993-1998 where she was awarded top honors for talent in 1997 and 1998, and the chance to compete at the 1999 Miss America Pageant. Now Heidi and her Husband Marc Bourgeois run a fund-raising committee for the Miss New Hampshire program, Heidi also dances as a cast member in the show each May.
Our Promise
Dance is not for everyone. While we love to see our students perform and do their best, not everyone is destined for Broadway. Our goal is to introduce our students to the art of dance and try to give them a positive learning experience from the classroom to the stage. Discipline, being able to perform in front of an audience, and the confidence they will gain, are tools that will be useful throughout their lives.
